Quito, Ecuador
The family landed in Quito and were escorted to their newly restored historic mansion in the middle of the city’s Old Town. After checking into the Casa Gangotena, they enjoyed a little time to relax and recharge from their flights.
Later, they embarked on a privately guided walking tour around the city center where they explored Quito’s gorgeous churches—some nearly 500 years old—and visited the workshop of a traditional Panama hat maker.

The family flew from Quito to Guayaquil and then on to their Galápagos Islands tours where they boarded the M/Y Grace, which would be their home for the next seven nights.
They had the entire ship to themselves, visiting a number of different islands while making new memories that will last a lifetime. Members of the family snorkeled in crystal-clear waters with sea lions and marine iguanas, hiked through volcanic terrain in search of Darwin’s finches and Galápagos hawks, and paddled around deserted bays in kayaks.
We were also able to arrange a private visit to the Darwin Research Center where the family met with the curator and learned about the center’s important work in the fields of conservation and biodiversity.
