Outdoor Adventures in New Zealand

We orchestrated an action-packed trip to New Zealand for three couples. After kicking it off in style with a sailing adventure on an authentic America’s Cup yacht, they hiked through the Wairere Boulders, sledded down the sand dunes of Ninety Mile Beach, whitewater rafted on the Kaituna River, canyoned down a steep set of waterfalls, watched dolphins on a catamaran cruise and much more. But the trip wasn’t all active outings—the couples also enjoyed wine tasting on Waiheke Island, sipped on locally brewed beer in the oldest pub in New Zealand, and relaxed in the spa and on the beach.

Active Family Trip in Ecuador

Our team put together a phenomenal family trip to Ecuador that began with hikes through the cloud forest of Mashpi and the Pomasqui Valley. We arranged an aerial bicycle tour of the cloud forest, allowing them to soar over this unique ecosystem for an up-close look. They also took a cable car ride in Quito and city walks in Guayaquil. A luxurious cruise to the Galápagos Islands followed their mainland adventures. In this remote archipelago, they hiked up the side of a volcanic crater on Isabela Island to view the striking lava formations. They cruised along the cliffs to seek out marine birds like penguins and cormorants in their native habitat and visited a hummingbird sanctuary—a highlight for the family patriarch, an avid birdwatcher. There were plenty of opportunities built in for relaxation between outdoor activities.

Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro and African Safari

A couple asked us to arrange a safari in East Africa, followed by a climb up the famous Mt. Kilimanjaro. They began in Kenya, where they embarked on a safari and enjoyed up-close encounters with elephants and other wildlife. Every detail was considered in setting up their Kilimanjaro excursion, including the time they needed to acclimatize to the altitude in the days prior to their ascent. Their first hike took place in the Chyulu Hills in Eastern Kenya, where they prepared for the higher altitudes. Everything was arranged for them along the way, including cooks, so they could focus on savoring the spectacular views and the thrill of the summit experience.

Following the Iditarod Race Across Alaska

A couple came to us because they were looking to follow their son, who was competing in the Iditarod—the famous thousand-mile sled dog race across some of the roughest, yet most beautiful terrain in Alaska. They began with a visit to the sled dogs at the kennels and travelled 11 miles by dog sled with their son for a taste of the thrilling sport. Throughout the remainder of the journey, they traveled via private plane and snowmobile with their own personal guide and pilot. We arranged some special accommodations along the way, including a stay at a bed and breakfast owned and operated by an Alaskan Native, who is an amazing chef and fabulous storyteller. The couple experienced the area’s culture by visiting deserted mining towns, dining on fresh sushi, and enjoying direct access to local craftsmen and Eskimo artisans.
