Are there dress code requirements for temple visits?

Yes. Buddhist temples require covered shoulders and knees (no shorts, tank tops, or short skirts).

Shoes must be removed before entering temples and some indoor sites; bring slip-on shoes. White clothing is traditional for temple visits and encouraged but not mandatory.

Specific guidance for each site is provided by the Trip Leader. Respectful attire shows cultural sensitivity.
