Nepal’s Himalayan Foothills are cool to cold, with typically clear skies at this time of year, though mountain weather can shift quickly. Tibet in January is cold: Lhasa temperatures can drop well below freezing overnight, and conditions are dry. The Maldives is in its dry season, with calm seas and reliable sunshine. Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle in late January is hot and relatively dry, with conditions well-suited to outdoor touring and safari.
